Multiple Ultrasonic Tips provide Flexibility
A 46-year-old male patient was referred to me for instrument removal and endo retreatment. This video shows how the use of a thick ultrasonic tip blocked the canal space for the separated file to come through. I was successful in removing the separated file when I replaced the thick one with a thinner tip and repeated the same procedure as I did with the thick tip. The ultrasonic tip for instrument retrieval always has to be sharp enough to provide a small space for the separated file to come through along the tip.
